Product Design Know-How USB Type-C Connector
USB Type-C is a hardware interface specification for Universal Serial Bus (USB). The highlights of the new interface are a slimmer design, faster transfer speeds, and more powerful transmission. The biggest feature of the Type-C is to support a double-sided pluggable interface and insertion. Meanwhile, the USB data cable used with it must also be thinner and lighter.
USB Type-C features
- The maximum data transmission speed reaches 10 Gbit/s, which is also the standard of USB 3.1.
- Type-C interface socket end size is about 8.3mm × 2.5mm slim design.
- Supports “double-sided insertion” function, and can withstand 10,000 times of insertion and removal.
- Standard Type-C cable specification can pass 3A current and a maximum power of 100W.

- Read the USB Association data in detail, record relevant design parameters, and combine the mechanism requirements from the client to prepare relevant material collection before design.
- The structural design must fully comply with the requirements of the association, and the materials selected for the components must meet the electrical performance requirements.
